Opening of the Peace Café season: screening of the film "Earth’s Greatest Enemy" with guest speaker Wendela de Vries (Stop Arms Trade) and post-film discussion
-----
Unlike last season, our Peace Café this evening will not be at the Oostercafé, but in the theatre of NHL Stenden on the Rengerslaan. We hope for a good turnout on this interesting evening.
The film 'Earth’s Greatest Enemy' is a documentary made by Abby Martin that impressively shows how vast and irresponsible the environmental impact of a large military empire is. Together with our guest Wendela de Vries and the audience, we will discuss the film afterwards.
-----
Wendela de Vries (Enschede, 1964) studied political science at the University of Amsterdam. She later worked as coordinator of the European Network Against Arms Trade (ENAAT), among other roles. Since 2006, she has worked for Stop Arms Trade, where she conducts research into arms trade and the arms industry.

"Resistance does not begin with grand words (…..)
Asking yourself a question, that is where resistance begins, and then asking that question to someone else."
(from a poem by Remco Campert)
We look forward to seeing you at our upcoming Peace Café.
Everyone who is committed, or might want to become committed, to peace (or is simply curious) is welcome at the Peace Café, and as always, we will provide coffee and tea. Please bring your own cup.
A financial contribution is welcome. A large (collection) jar will be available for that purpose.
